One of the highlights of this years trip was being honored by the members of the Margarita MAFIA with a “TropRock Music Award”! Island Dreamz Radio was named “Radio Station of the Year in a Small Market”.  As it happens, we were recording another event at the time of the awards, but our good friend Shelly Speckman, and friends and artists, Gary Snead and the Young Rebel Goombas, presented the award to Station Manager Ed Meyer at the Young Rebel Goombas Key West Party held at The Overboard.
The Island Dreamz Staff had a great week, but we also did some work… We Broadcast LIFE from “The Big Owl Tiki Bar Welcome to Key West Party”, and the Saturday Afternoon Tradition from the roof of The Rum Barrel, featuring Tall Paul, Crawdaddy, The Calypso Nuts, Kristie Bobal & John Friday. Both of these live events were also recorded along with the “Mike Mangum & Captain Nick CD Release Party” and the “Young Rebel Goombas Key West Party”.  We plan on airing all of these events as specials over the winter, so keep checking the Island Dreamz website for details!
